Endless hunger

My spirit's undying hunger for
love chased me across this rainy
life, watery cobblestones
side-slip under my two stray feet,

hazy memories stumble with me
along the dead fancy's empty back-street,
where lamplight of a past dream
is twinkling in the darkness gently,

and no-one waits for me behind
the corner, and nobody holds an
umbrella over my noddle, the night
glumly follows my lonely walks, and

bit by bit I get used the thought
that nobody meets me, God only sends
his life-buoy, and I go on
with His care, through this shady land...
